Hint: L.H.S. stands for the left hand side and R.H.S. stands for the right hand side. So, we just had to answer that part of the Equation. which is on the left hand side of the equation as L.H.S. and the part which is on the right hand side of the equation as R.H.S. First we take the equation and then we take L.S.H. as the left side of the equation and take R.H.S. as the right side of the equation.

Complete step-by-step solution:
An equation is a mathematical compound expression which has one equal sign in between two expressions signifying that whatever is written on the left side of equal sign is equal to whatever is written on the right side of equal sign.
i.e., Left Hand Side(L.H.S.) expression = Right Hand Side(R.H.S.) expression.
This expression can be anything from a single variable, a constant, a polynomial , a logarithmic quantity etc.
The given equation is $14 = 27 - y$
The L.H.S. $ = 14$
R.H.S. $ = 27 - y$

Note: Whatever we prove that a equation is true or an identity is true, we have two ways
1. Find one side equal to the other side and hence they will be considered equal.
2. Simplifying both Left Hand Side(LHS) and Right Hand Side(RHS) until both of them become the same. Then LHS will be equal to RHS which is written as : LHS = RHS i.e., identity or mathematical approved fact is true.
Hence LHS = RHS signifies that both sides are equal to each other as one can be derived from another by some suitable mathematical operations.
