Hint: The Big Bang Theory Attempts us to explain the origin of the universe. In biology, evolution is the change in the characteristics of a species over several generations and relies on the process of natural selection. The theory of evolution is based on the idea that all species are related and gradually change over time.
Complete answer:
Evolution is the change in each species and flora and fauna over successive generations of this planet since the beginning of the time when the earth was formed. Evolution explains how modern organisms have descended from ancient organisms. Charles Darwin born in 1809 grew to become a geologist, a naturalist Who widely contributed to the science of evolution. He is also known as the Father of evolution.
The process by which changes in the genotype of the population of organisms occur in response to changes in the environment and the origin of life from non-living organisms such changes are referred to as organic evolution. Jean-Baptiste Lamarck found out the change or mutation in genes of organisms and proposed the theory of organic evolution. The word organic evolution consists of two words ‘organic' which means living beings and ‘evolution' which means change. The term organic evolution means changing the creation of different living beings from its original form.
The two evidence in favour of organic evolution are:-
Evidence of missing links in Archaeopteryx, wings of birds and insects – analogous organs
Giraffes evolved to acquire long necks.
Proving the Theory of Organic Evolution based on the example of giraffe given is as:-
Organic Evolution is generally termed as the change in certain characters of organisms according to the environment prevalent over there. The organisms start adjusting itself according to the environment which causes the change in the body features i.e both genetically and physically. Coming back to the example of Long Necks of Giraffe, in this case, the Scientist Lamarck found out that in the old days the giraffes used to have a shorter neck to feed upon the forages or the branches of the trees. As time flew and the forages or the branches grew larger in height, the giraffe attempted to eat the forage or the branches of the trees, which in turn led to the elongation of their neck. As the forage grew longer the neck of the giraffes too grew longer as they attempted to eat it. Hence it shows that the body of the organisms changes accordingly to the changes in the environment. Though these changes are seen at a slower rate, generation after generation the changes appear.
This, we could conclude that any change in the environment could lead to the change in the features of the individual.
Note:
Living beings and the Flora and Fauna have always evolved since the beginning of the formation of the earth. And will continue to evolve as this is the only way for the existence of a species and also nature. And this will also create a balance between nature and living beings.
