Hint: Carnivores are animals that feed on other animals. They depend on herbivores, omnivores and even other carnivores based on their needs.

Complete answer:
Within the ecosystem, there involves several natural communities, where animals having specific diets are connected together in a food chain. And the three important diets include creatures that eat only plants, those that eat only meat, and the last who eat both plants and animals.
Examples include - Lion, Tiger, Leopard, etc.

Those animals that feed exclusively on meat are called carnivores. The word 'carnivore' literally means "meat eater". A well-balanced community depends on the presence of carnivores to control the populations of other animals. Most of them are members of the order Carnivora, even though not all members of Carnivora are carnivorous.

There are three different types of carnivores based on the level of meat consumption:
1. Hypercarnivores - Carnivores that mostly eat meat. They are considered obligate carnivores. Examples are snakes, lizards and most amphibians.
2. Mesocarnivores - Carnivores that depend on meat for at least half of their diet. They also consume fruits, vegetables, and fungi. Examples are raccoons, foxes, etc.
3. Hypo Carnivores - Carnivores that consume the least amount of meat. These are also seen as omnivores.

Some certain features of carnivores are;
- They have strong jaws and sharp teeth to rip and tear the prey.
- They mostly have long, sharp claws which also helps them to tear the prey.
- They relatively have large brains and high levels of intelligence.
- They also have less complicated digestive systems than herbivores.

Note: Carnivores depend on sufficient prey in the food chain to attain the food they require. If the prey populations such as the herbivores or other carnivores decline, the carnivores get extinct.
