There are three broad categories of natural vegetation. These are Forests, Grasslands, and Shrubs. The changes in the type of natural vegetation occur mainly because of the changes in climatic conditions. Among these, forests can grow where rainfall and temperature are plentiful to support a tree cover. Depending upon these factors, open and dense forests are grown.
The tropical evergreen forests are also called tropical rainforests. These thick forests occur in the regions near the equator and close to the tropics. These regions receive heavy rainfall throughout the year and are hot; this is the reason why these forests have luxuriant vegetation of all kinds- trees, shrubs, and creepers. The trees do not shed their leaves altogether as there is no particular dry season. That is why they are called evergreen. In the daytime, even inside the forest, the thick canopies of the closely spaced trees do not allow the sunlight to penetrate. Hardwood trees like ebony, rosewood, mahogany, rubber, and Cinchona are common here. Deer, monkeys, elephants, and lemurs are the common animals in these forests. Not only that, plenty of sloths, birds, bats, snails, and scorpions.
