Hint India is a democratic country, in which every citizen is considered equally. According to the constitution of India, every individual is equal. Whether it’s a man or woman, whatever their caste and religion is, no matter if one is rich or poor, the Indian constitution does not have any kind of partiality.
Complete step-by-step solution
The Indian constitution treats every person as equal. Every person has the right to go to all public places. The Indian government has tried to implement the equality that is guaranteed in the constitution in two ways. The first is through laws and the second one is through programs. In the Indian constitution Article 14 to 18, the right of equality is explained in detail:
A. Article 14- Equality before the law or equal conservation of the laws- According to article 14, the state shall not deny to any person’s equality before the law or the equal protection of the laws within the territory of India.
B. Article 15- Prohibition of Indians on basis of caste, religion, sex, place of birth- This article states that the state cannot discriminate against any citizen on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex, place of birth, or any of them.
Nothing in this article shall prevent the state from making a special provision for women and children.
C. Article 16- Equality of opportunity in the matter of public employment- Under this article, equal opportunity for all citizens in a matter that relates to employment to any office under the state is provided.
D. Article 17- Abolition of untouchability- This article abolishes the practice of unassailable and its practice in any form is punishable in accordance with the law.
D. Article 18- Abolition of the titles-This article states that no title except being a military or academic distinction will be conferred by the state. No Indian citizen can receive any type of title from any foreign state.
Note Right to equality in the Indian constitution has been taken from England and Equal conservation of law has been taken from the American constitution. In the exception of article 15, there are special provisions for women and children like the constitution of women’s commission, the establishment of special institutions, etc have been done.
