Bronchitis is when the tubes that carry air to our lungs, called as the bronchial tubes, get inflamed and swollen. Symptoms of Bronchitis include coughing, wheezing, and difficulty in breathing as it directly affects the lungs. Bronchitis may be either acute or chronic. Bronchitis developing from a cold or other respiratory infection is known as acute bronchitis which is very common. Chronic bronchitis is a more serious condition is a constant irritation or inflammation of the lining of bronchial tubes often due to smoking.
To reduce the risk of bronchitis the following tips should be taken :
-Avoid cigarette smoking: cigarette smoking increases the chances of chronic bronchitis.
-Getting vaccinated: Vaccine can save us from many diseases such as viral infection or bacterial infection.
-Washing hands: Washing hands is one of the important things that we should do to avoid any type of infection as our hands carry most of the germs. It is useful to get rid of bronchitis.

Note: Acute Bronchitis is usually a cough that lasts around three weeks and also known as chest cold. In more than 90% of cases, the cause is a viral infection. This virus spreads through the air when people cough or by direct contact. Chronic Bronchitis is defined as a productive cough one that produces sputum that lasts for 3 months or more than one year or for at least two years.
