Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in India and was established in 1936 in order to protect the endangered Bengal tiger. It is located in Nainital district Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand which was named after a well known hunter Jim Corbett. The weather of the park is temperate. Rainfall ranges from light during the winter to heavy during summer. The park was first to come under project tiger initiative. It consists of 488 different species of plants as well as a variety of fauna.
