Hint: In order to solve this question, we should know about the resistance. Resistance is the property of a material to oppose the flow of electricity when electric current passes through it and materials which are specially designed to offer resistance in electrical circuits are called resistors. Here, we will discuss Nichrome and its resistance.
Complete step by step solution:
In the year, $1960$ Charles Kuen Kao invented some fascinating physical properties of glass which laid the foundations of high speed information exchange using a new kind of material called optical fibres.
The optical fibre is a long fibre cable which actually works on the principle of total internal reflection of light signals. When any light signal of some definite energy is passed through the optical fibre, these light signals are passed through it from one to another end with the help of multiple total internal reflections of light inside the optical fibre cable and in this transmission, there is almost negligible amount of loss in energy of a signal. So, Optical fibres are found to be very useful in communications networks due to its low energy loss which enables it to be used in longer transmission distances.
Hence, Fibre optic was created by Charles Kuen kao in the year $1960$
Note: It should be remembered that, total internal reflection is a phenomenon when a ray of light passing through denser medium to rarer medium but when incident ray of light hits the interface between two mediums and it does not refract but gets totally reflected inside the denser medium, this is known as total internal reflection. Also, Charles Kuen Kao is also known as the father of optical fibres.
