Hint: The disease that is transmitted by bite or by saliva exposure of an animal is usually a viral infection. These animals' saliva contains harmful and toxic substances that infects the brain and ultimately leads to death of a person.
Complete answer: We all are familiar that animal bite can cause a severe problem and can ultimately lead to death if not treated on time. Dog's bite is very common now - a - days that cause disease in humans.
Before coming to answer let us first infer about the option given:
1. Rabies- It is caused by a rabies virus. The virus spread through the saliva of an infected animal. The virus usually infects the brain and ultimately it can lead to death. After the bite of an animal, the virus gets deposited in the muscle of the incubation period that is of three months, the virus stays close to the exposure site. The virus then travels via peripheral nerves to the brain and then to all parts of the body.
2. Tuberculosis- It is a contagious infection that attacks our lungs after which it can spread to other parts of your body like the brain and spine. It is caused due to bacteria that is spread through the air. When someone who has TB sneezes or coughs they release tiny droplets that contain the germs. If we breathe through them we can get infected. It does not spread suddenly, it takes time and it usually spreads to that person who has a lot of bacteria in his or her lungs.
3. Tetanus- It is a serious nervous system disease that is caused by toxin- producing bacterium. It causes muscle contractions, particularly of the jaws and neck. It is commonly known as lockjaw. There is no cure of this disease. The average time from infection to appearance of signs and symptoms is 10 days. The incubation period range from 3 to 21 days. They usually start at the jaw and progress downwards in the body. Due to widespread use of vaccine in US,cases of tetanus are rare than the developing countries.
4. AIDS- It stands for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. It is caused due to the virus named HIV. It's the most advanced stage of HIV. HIV kills CD4 cells whose count ranges from 500 to 1600 per cubic millimeter. A person's range falls below 200 per cubic millimeter. A person can also be diagnosed with AIDS if they have HIV and develop an opportunistic infection which is rare. It is usually caused due to sexual intercourse with the infected person.
So, the correct answer is option A, Rabies.
Note: Disease is a particular abnormal condition that negatively affects the structure or functioning of some parts of the body. It is usually diagnosed by medical treatment and is usually associated by specific signs and symptoms. If not treated on time, it may lead to death of a person.
