Hint: Artificial propagation is also known as the method of reproduction. The formation of new life by another way not using natural means which is present in the organism.
Complete answer:
The three methods used in plants for artificial propagation are: cuttings, layering, and grafting.
1.Layering: A branch of the plant is pulled towards the ground and a branch of plant covered with moist soil and make sure that the tip of the branch is exposed above the ground. In some time, new roots generate from the part of the branch which is covered with soil and then the branch is cut off from the parent plant. New plants grow from the roots which rise from the branches of the plant.
2.Grafting: It is a method in which stems are cut from different plants and combine together in that way so that stems join and grow as a single plant. Result of this, the new plant will have the quality of both the original plants.
3.Cutting: A specific stem is cut carefully taken off its nodes. The cut part is treated with auxins because it has a low amount of nutrients. This results in the formation of a new plant.
Hence the correct answer is OPTION(C)
Note: There are various advantages of artificial propagation are;
The new plant is similar to the parent plant with the desirable properties from the parent.
