Hint: The electromagnetic spectrum comprises various types of electromagnetic waves, each of the waves having different wavelengths or frequencies. White light can be produced by a variety of sources both in space and also by artificial sources on earth. White light is a combination of seven different colors or rather seven different wavelengths.

White light is when all of the wavelengths of the visible spectrum are present. It is true that there is no single wavelength that looks white. This was first noticed and remarked by Newton. White light has no light of its own. It's a combination of seven different colors or we can say a combination of seven different wavelengths. So there is no specific value for the wavelength of white light. It is a resultant of superposition of all the wavelengths from 400 nm to 800 nm in the visible spectrum of light. To Justify this result that the white light consists of seven colors Newton done an experiment he passes white light through the glass prism and then he observed that after refraction when white light comes out of prism is splitted into seven colors, The splitting of white light into seven colors is called the phenomenon of dispersion and pattern of seven colors obtained on the screen is called Spectrum. This spectrum shows that white light comprises seven colors in the visible region and these colors are Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Orange & Red. Since all colors are visible to us so these occur in the visible spectrum. When again these seven colors of light are incident on the same inverted prism all visible light gets combined and again white light is formed. This clearly shows that white light is the combination of different colors so it has a range of wavelength no specific wavelength can give to white light.
Note: When white light passes through a prism, it disperses into a band of seven different colors. This band of colors obtained from the dispersion of light is called a spectrum. Dispersion of light in a prism results in the formation of a spectrum. This color formation is similar to rainbow formation in which tiny water droplets are behaving like a small prism.
