Hint: The quotient is the number obtained when we divide two completely divisible numbers. We can see here that 6 is completely divisible by 2, so we can do the division and find out the quotient easily.

Complete step by step answer:
We know that the Division algorithm say that for any two numbers ‘a’ and ‘b’ (say $a > b$), we obtain two number ‘r’ and ‘q’ such that $0\leq r < b$, where ‘r’ is the remainder and ‘q’ is the quotient. The process to obtain this quantity, we simply need to repeatedly subtract the number ‘b’ from ‘a’ to get the least number between 0 (included) and ‘b’ (not included). Here, $a=6$ and $b=2$. We subtract 2 from 6 to obtain 4, this is not the least, we can still subtract. Again subtracting, we get 2, and this can be subtracted further too. Now after subtracting further we obtain 0, which is where we stop. Since, we subtracted this 3 times, we obtain 3 as the quotient and the end product is 0, so 0 is the remainder.

Note: Calculating quotient changes as soon as the values are put in opposite places, i.e. if here the quotient of 2 and 6 would have been asked, the result would have been completely different. This is because division is not an associative property (i.e. $a/b\neq b/a$). So, the order in which the quotient is asked should not be ignored.
