The testis is composed of the testicular lobule. Testicular lobules consist of seminiferous tubules and interstitial or Leydig cells.
Leydig cells secrete and synthesize testicular hormones called androgens or testosterone.
Testosterone plays a major stimulatory role in the process of spermatogenesis. Testosterone regulates the development, maturation, and function of the male accessory sex organs like epididymis, vas Reverend, etc. these hormones stimulate muscular growth, facial and axillary hair development. It increases aggressiveness in males. It is responsible for deepening of voice in males. Testis and Penis also enlarge because of increased production of testosterone during puberty.
Testosterone levels also regulate the mood in males.

The production of testosterone starts to rise reasonably during puberty and begins to dip after age 30 or so.
