For an example: if we dissolve 100 gram of salt in 1 kilogram of water, the osmolarity will decrease very slightly as the liquid warms up and this because the same weight of water takes up slightly more room as it warms up (because it expands). As osmolarity changes with temperature, the term osmolarity is well preferred in medicine.

-We should also remember that osmolality of a fluid is a measure of the number of particles in one kilogram of the liquid that they are dissolved in. Also the number of particles is measured in millimoles as it is a measurement widely used in chemistry.
