Natality refers to the birth of individuals in a population. The “natality rate” is expressed as the number of individuals produced per female per unit time. Here two bases are used: Per capita or per individual and Per 1000 individuals. Natality may be maximum natality or ecological natality. Maximum natality is the theoretical maximum number of individuals produced under ideal environmental conditions. Ecological natality refers to the number of individuals produced under an actual environmental condition. It is not constant for a population but may vary with size.

Natality is a measure of concern for many countries as birth rate increases but the resources and land are limited so to control this government of many countries makes policies through which they can control the birth rate of the individual. Countries like China, Japan made two-child policies but it became a failure as it decreased the youth population rate.
