We all are part of either rural communities or urban communities. Most of us live in big cities but few of them belong to small areas or rural backgrounds. Let us discuss the difference between rural and urban areas.

Urban area on the other hand is more developed having a higher population density than the rural area	A rural area comprises large areas of undeveloped lands and less population density.
These areas do not have agricultural jobs but instead have jobs in various industrial and technological fields	The main source of living in the rural areas is agriculture followed by fishing, cottage industry, pottery, etc.
The urban area is governed by the municipal corporations.	The rural areas are governed by panchayats consisting of five members who belong to that region.
Urban communities are not only larger in size but they are dynamic, have a great deal of heterogeneity, they have complex and diverse cultures and faster rate of communication and change	Rural communities are smaller in size, are not very dynamic, show homogeneity and rate of communication and change is slower.

Note: Though the rural communities seem to be underdeveloped as compared to urban communities, it has been seen statistically that the rural population have more healthier individuals than urban population due to difference in life habits. Urban areas have more industrialization and have more roads, bridges, railways, houses as well as commercial buildings.
