Hint: The Tibetan Plateau is the highest and largest plateau of the world. It is located in China. It has a lot of features which makes it a unique and important division of the earth.

Complete answer: The Tibetan plateau has variation of ecosystems. Some parts have tundra vegetation while some parts are categorized as montane grasslands. This plateau stretches through China, Tibet and India covering an area of 2.5 million square kilometres.

The Tibetan plateau has an average elevation exceeding 4,500 metres. It is enclosed by mountain ranges that bear two highest summits of the world, Mount Everest and K2. It is the result of the collision of the Indian plate and the Urasian plate. Due to its enormous height from the mean sea level, it is known as "the Roof of the World".

It is the origin of several glaciers and many significant rivers. It has a very unusual atmosphere and many extraordinary plateaus. Due to its complex topography structure, different parts of the plateau have different climates.

Note:- The smallest plateau in the world is Yellowstone National Park.
- The Tibetan Plateau includes the headwaters of the drainage and includes most of the streams in surrounding areas.
 - Sometimes it is referred to as the Third Pole and comprises the enormous reserve of freshwater outside the polar areas. The influence of global warming here is of serious scientific attention.
