Hint:
- India shares 3488 km of border with China.
- The Sino-Indian border is generally divided into three sectors namely: Western sector, Middle sector, and Eastern sector.
- The state which shares the longest border with China covers an area of 1597 kms.

Complete solution:
China is an East Asian country which is officially known as the People’s Republic of India. It is the most populous nation in the world, with a population of about 1.4 billion in 2019. It is the third or fourth largest nation in the world, covering about 9.6 million square kilometres. The entire Sino-Indian border (including the western LAC, the tiny undisputed segment in the middle and the McMahon Line in the east) is 4.056 km long and crosses five Indian states/territories: Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

Following are the given options:

a. Jammu and Kashmir was a territory which had been formerly ruled by India as a state from 1954 to 2019, which constituted the southern and south-eastern portions of Kashmir, which has been the subject of a dispute between India, Pakistan and China from the middle of the 20th century. Jammu and Kashmir has a common border with China. Thus, Option A is correct.

b. Bordered by Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. Part of the Himalayas is Sikkim at the north east of India. The region has a beautiful landscape that includes the highest mountain of India, Kangchenjunga. Sikkim also has glaciers, alpine meadows and thousands of varieties of wildflower. Sikkim also has a common border with China. Thus, Option B is also correct.

c. Arunachal Pradesh is also a state that lies to the North East of India. It crosses the Assam and Nagaland states to the south. It shares foreign borders with Bhutan in the west, to the east is Myanmar, and on the northern side is the disputed border with China on the McMahon Line. Thus, Option C is also right.

d. Himachal Pradesh is a northern Indian state situated in the Himalayas. Host of the Dalai Lama, Himachal Pradesh has a heavy Tibetan presence. This is shown in the Buddhist temples and monasteries, as well as the colourful Tibetan New Year celebrations. The region is also well-known for its trekking, hiking and skiing areas. Thus, Option D is correct as the States which have common borders with China are Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

Hence, the correct answer is option D.

Note:
- Besides the counties, the Chinese Autonomous Zone of Tibet is bordering India.
- The Indian administrative areas of Jammu and Kashmir from Aksai Chin are divided by a line known as the Line of Actual Control (LAC), one of the disputed border areas between India and China.
- China shares its international boundaries with 14 sovereign states. In addition, there is a 30-kilometre (19 mi) boundary with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Area.
