Complete answer:
In 1675 Guru Tegh Bahadur was killed in Delhi under the orders of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. According to J.S. Grewal, Guru Tegh Bahadur decided to meet face to face the religious persecution of Kashmiri Brahmins by the Mughal officials.

When he denied to perform miracles to please Aurangzeb, he was knocked into prison.
Three of his companions, who had been arrested with him, were then put to death in front of him. He continued his denial to adopt Islam and was beheaded on 11 Nov, 1675 under a banyan tree, before a large crowd.

Guru Tegh Bahadur battled against forced transformation and other religious impositions before he was beheaded on the orders of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The emperor Aurangzeb had forbidden anyone from discarding the decapitated head and body of Guru Tegh Bahadur. The inhabitants of Delhi, who had just witnessed the guru's assassination, were hit with fear.

Note:
In 1606, Guru Arjan, the fifth Sikh guru, was also killed on the orders of a Mughal Emperor, Jahangir by the banks of the river Ravi, facing the Lahore fort.

Guru Tegh Bahadur's martyrdom is recognized as the Shaheedi Divas of Guru Tegh Bahadur every year on 24 November.

Guru Nanak Dev was the founder of Sikhism. Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur is considered to be the largest Gurudwara in the world.
