The provision of salary of CAG of India follows Article \[148\left( 3 \right)\] and the second schedule of the constitution of India. This Article mentions the salary and other conditions of service of CAG , determined by the Parliament, which shall be specified in the Second Schedule. The Second Schedule states that the salary and rights of a CAG will vary to his disadvantage after his appointment. The reports produced by CAG are presented in the Parliament and later taken into consideration by the Public Accounts Committees and Committees of Public Undertakings which act as special committees of the Parliament of India and state legislatures. In addition to this,CAG will be in position of being the head of Indian Audit and Accounts Department. The CAG was relieved from accounting functions.
