Rajasthan's Churu, about 20 km north of the state capital of Jaipur, noted the nation's peak temperature of $50^\circ {\text{C}}$ on May 27, 2020. Churu, known as the door to the Thar desert, was in sync with Jacobabad in Pakistan as the most blazing site on Earth on Tuesday. Instituted in A.D. 1120 by the Nirban clan of Rajputs, the place was called Churu after the king Churaman in the Bangladesh area of the state. It was consequently reigned by Rathore (Banirot) Rajputs and in the course of the battle of 1871 the region came under the supremacy of Bikaner. The Shekhawat’s (Taknet) clashed along with the Rathores (Banirot) to protect the city fort. This war is well-known for its use of canon shells made of silver. The inheritors of the Taknet's and the Banirot's still exist in the city. Before India's independence in 1947, it was a part of the Bikaner State. The district came into presence in 1948, containing three tehsils - Churu, Rajgarh, and Taranagar when the management of Bikaner State was restructured. Now there are eight tehsils containing Churu, Sidhmukh, Sadulpur, Ratangarh, Sujangarh, Sardarsahar, Taranagar, and Bidasar.
