Complete answer:
The Kuka rebellion was started for the first time in 1849 when the Britishers established a new political order. This rebellion was a part of the Namdhari movement which was aimed at the eradication of British rule. Namdharis are also known as kukas and they are different from mainstream Sikhs because they have different ways of reciting their Gurbani which is in a high-pitched voice called kook that made them name as kukas. Kukas had a feeling to free their nation from the claws of Britishers even at the risk of their life. The leader of this movement was Satguru Ram Singh.
Satguru Ram Singh was born on 3rd February 1816 in a poor family of a carpenter, in Raiyan village near Bhaini Sahib of Ludhiana. He founded the Namdhari Sect on 12th April 1857 at Bhaini Sahib. He always asked his followers to boycott everything that had a stamp of Britishers. The Kuka rebellion had religious and political reasons –

> Political reasons – They wanted Sikh rule over Punjab, prohibited the use of British products, and wore hand-woven clothes.
