This industry is situated in Bhadravathi city of Karnataka. This plant is involved in the production of alloy steels and pig iron. The main objective of this plant was to tap the rich deposits of iron ore which was located near Kemmanagundi in the BabaBudangiri hills and manufacture pig iron along with other products. The iron ore required by the plant was supplied from the limonite deposits at Chattanahalli near Kumsi for the first two years. But after 1924, mining operations were started at Kemmanagundi and these mining operations yielded good quality iron ore.
