Hint:Hoysala empire in today's time is modern day Karnataka. The Hoysala king fought battle against his overlord Chalukya king and the Chola Empire so that he could separate Hoysala as an independent empire in southern India.

Complete answer:
A south Indian philosopher and brahman theologian, Ramanujancharya also known as Ramanuja, is a very well known devotional thinker of Hinduism. He settled in Srirangam after getting back from a long pilgrimage. After settling down he established various temples and centres where he could impart his teaching about love and devotion of god Vishnu and his companion goddess Laxmi. For practicing bhakti he provided scholarly basis in three different discourses: the Vedartha-sangraha (on the Vedas, the earliest scriptures of Hinduism), the Shri-bhashya (on the Brahma-sutras), and the Bhagavad Gita-bhashya (on the Bhagavad Gita).
Ramanujacharya escaped from Kulothunga Chola and had come to Hoysala during Bitti Deva’s reign. Bitti Deva’s daughter was seriously ill, on knowing about his presence, the king had to ask for Ramanujacharya’s help. Ramanujancharya cured Bitti Deva’s daughter. After this incident Bitti Deva was moved and he decided to become a follower of Ramanujancharya. Bitti Deva was originally a follower of Jainism but after witnessing what Ramanujancharya did he converted to Hindu Vaishnavism and changed his name to Vishnuvardhana. He even built temples in honour of lord Vishnu, Chennakesava Temple is an example of that. He had even built Hoysaleswara temple in honour of lord Shiva

Hence, the correct answer is option (A).

Note:Other than being a patron of Ramanujancharya Bitti Deva was also a patron of Kannada literature and under his rule the Kannada literature saw a significant growth. Under his patronage a Jain version of Ramayana called Ramchandra Charita Purana was written by the great poet Nagachandra.
