Hint: When the Ancien Regime was abolished in favour of a constitutional monarchy, this revolution started in May 1789. Its removal by the first French Republic in September 1792 led to the execution in January 1793 of Louis XVI. From 1789 to 1799, there was a revolt in France.

-The Broken chain was used to fetter slaves. A broken chain symbolized the freedom from slavery.
-One rod can be easily broken, but not an entire bundle, the bundle of Rods or Fasces. It symbolizes strength that lies in unity.
