Complete answer: Poultry farming is a sort of animal cultivating that involves raising trained fowls, for instance; chickens, ducks, turkeys and geese to obtain meat or eggs for food. Poultry chickens are reared in unimaginable numbers. Over 60 billion chickens are reared annually. Chickens that are raised for eggs are known as layers, while chickens raised for meat are called broilers. According to the nature and colour of the egg, layer hens are of two types; white egg-laying hens and brown egg-laying hens. White egg-laying hens are comparatively smaller in size as compared to brown egg-laying hens. Sickness free chickens, appropriate varieties, legitimate and safe farm conditions, appropriate feed and water, cleanliness and medical care are significant for poultry farm management.
Some of the common diseases of poultry are as follows:
a) Viral Diseases of Poultry: Fowlpox, bird flu, infectious bronchitis, lymphoid leukosis and Ranikhet (New castle diseases) are common viral diseases of poultry.
b) Fungal Diseases: It includes aflatoxicosis, brooder pneumonia, aspergillosis and thrush.
Parasitic diseases:
c) Internal Parasites: It includes roundworms, tapeworms and threadworms
d) External parasites: It includes fowl mite, chicken mite, fleas, ticks, etc.
e) Diseases caused by bacteria are fowl cholera, pullorum, coryza, mycoplasmosis and spirochaetes.
If any of the infectious diseases have affected a mass proportion of poultry birds, then the best decision, to avoid the fatal consequence, is to destroy the affected individual.

Hence, the correct answer is option B.

Note: Layers need to be raised from when they are one day old. They start laying eggs commercially from 18-19 weeks of age. They remain to lay eggs continuously till their 72-78 weeks of age. They can produce about one kg of eggs by consuming about 2.25 kg of food during their egg-laying period.
