Hint: The river of ice is called Glaciers. Permanently frozen rivers of ice on mountains are glaciers. Glaciers act as long term storage for fresh water as ice forming large masses of flowing ice.
Two type of glaciers are found :- i) alpine or valley glacier ii) ice sheet glacier or continental

Complete answer:
Glaciers are the landforms, which are formed by any product of huge mass flowing ice and meltwater . Such landforms are found in glaciated areas, such as Greenland, Antarctica, and many of the world’s higher mountain ranges. These are just like the frozen rivers made of ice on high mountains.
Alpine glaciers formed on mountain sides( high elevations ) and they generally move downwards through valleys. These glaciers are found on high mountains and small that form valleys. They usually occupy the pre existing valley region . for example – Himalaya, Andes, Mount Kenya, etc.
Ice sheet glaciers form wide domes and spread in all the directions which result in covering all valleys, mountains and the plains too with a thicker layer of ice like a blanket. For example continental glaciers like the Antarctica and Greenland islands.

Note:
Glaciers are a large mass covered with ice which slowly moves over land area from its place of accumulation called snowfield. Two broad categories are alpine or valley glaciers that originate from snow covered on high mountains and other is ice sheet or continental glacier covering the large area of the plain /continent.
