Hint: The different physiological and biological functions in a living organism occur through the coordinated functions of the different organ system. Organ system is described as a group of organs that function to perform specific tasks in an organism's body. It consists of a number of organs that work together as a biological unit.
Complete answer:
The living organisms are cellular organisms and in multicellular organisms, the cells give rise to higher grade of organization which is known as the organ system. The different organ systems are the respiratory system, cardiac system, skeletal system, reproductive system etc.
When a person takes food, a number of different organ systems are involved in the ingestion, sensation and digestion of the food. In the above case, where Tanya went to the restaurant to eat food, she used her muscular system and her skeletal system to go to the place. She chews her food using her muscles and muscular system. She uses her skeletal system to move her mouth and hands and body in order to eat the hamburger. Further, the skeletal system helps her to chew the food appropriately and the food is swallowed for digestion.
The food is ingested and reaches the stomach to be digested further. The food is then passed through the other parts of the digestive system such as the small intestine and the large intestine until the nutrients are absorbed by the cell.
The released nutrients of the food is then taken up by the circulatory system and is distributed to all other parts of the body. In this process of coordination between the food and its digestion is assisted by the nervous and the cardiovascular system. The cardiovascular system helps in pumping of the blood to all the different parts of the body. Thus, Tanya uses the muscular system, skeletal system, digestive system and the cardiovascular system to eat and digest her food.
Note: The various life processes such as development, movement, growth and reproduction depend upon the coordination of the several organ systems. In order to eat and digest her food, Tanya used her muscular system, skeletal system, digestive system, her nervous system, and her cardiovascular system.
