Hint:Subhas Chandra Bose was born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa located in Bengal province. His father’s name was Janakinath Bose & his mother’s name was Prabhawati Dutt. The teaching of Swami Vivekananda & Ramakrishna had greatly influenced him at the age of 16, after being released in 1927 he became general secretary of the congress party & started working with Jawaharlal Lal Nehru for independence.

Subhas Chandra Bose is famous for his role that he played in India's independence movement. He was a leader of the Indian national congress, he was a great freedom fighter & was very brave. He was a national patriot. He joined the movement which was started by Mahatma Gandhi who made the Indian national congress as a non-violent organization. He was elected as a President of the organization (INC) in 1938. During the Second World War an important/significant development in the struggle for freedom was the formation of Azad Hind Fauj that is also known as Indian National Army or INA when the British armies were defeated by Japan. Japan's armies occupied almost all the countries of south-east Asia. The League which was setup by the Rash Bihari Bose with Indians living in the south-east Asian countries formed the Indian National Army with the aim of liberating India from British rule. The Subhas Chandra Bose were escaped in the meantime from India in 1941and went to Germany to work for independence of India, he came to Singapore in 1943 to lead/ guide the independence league & rebuilt the Azad Hind Fauj to make it effective for the freedom of India about 45,000 soldiers & the Indians among whom were Indian prisoners & the Indians who were living in south-east Asia comprised the Azad Hind Fauj. During the attack of the north-eastern parts of India three units of azad hind fauj took part in 1944 to expel the British from India. Subhas Chandra Bose played a great/ eminent role in the freedom struggle which will continue to be a major source of inspiration to the people especially the youth.

Note:Subhas Chandra Bose was the most powerful freedom fighter with remarkable leadership skills & an inspiring orator. He made famous slogans during the struggle of India such as, ‘Tum mujhe khoon do, Main tume azadi dunga’, ‘Jai Hind’ & Dilli chalo’. He is famous for his militant approach & for his socialistic policies. Subhas Chandra Bose died on 18 august 1945 in a plane crash in Taiwan.
