Hint: A combination of solid particles and gaseous particles in the atmosphere is known as air pollution. Emissions from automobiles, harmful chemicals from industries, dirt, pollen, etc may be present as particles in the air. Harmful substances like chemicals or microbes which infect the water bodies like river, pond, ocean, lakes, sea, canal, etc. and pollute the quality of water is known as water pollution.
Complete answer:
Steps to control air pollution-
> Tree plantation should be conducted to increase the area of forest.
> Engines of automobiles should be rebuilt to decrease emissions of harmful gasses in the air also pollution levels of automobiles must be strictly checked.
> Industries must have the proper arrangement for pollution control. Eg, the use of devices for filtering the smoke coming from chimney and industries.
> We should have to use smokeless sources of energy like biogas ( a natural gas formed from the dung of animals), solar energy, etc.
> The location of industries should be far away from the residential areas.
Steps to control Water pollution-
> Usage of Pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides in agriculture should be reduced for the welfare of the environment.
> Prohibited the dumping of waste in the rivers. Instead of dumping recycling of the products should occur.
> Even before the discharge of water waste into the river, install water-efficient domestic and industrial equipment.
> Awareness among people should be increased regarding the consequences of water pollution.
Note: A crucial part of air pollution in cities is caused by Ozone gas. Air pollution caused by Ozone is also known as smog. Dumping of untreated, sewage waste is the major cause of water in India. A report said about 70 percent of India’s water is contaminated. About 5 million deaths happen per year because of air pollution.
