Hint: In step up transformers, there are two coils named as primary coil and the secondary coil. In step up the primary coil has a smaller number of windings than the secondary coil. The secondary coil has a greater number of windings than the primary coil.

Complete step by step answer:
A transformer is the piece of electrical equipment which transforms electrical energy from primary coil windings to the magnetic energy in the transformer’s magnetic core and again to the electrical energy on the secondary transformer side. A step-up transformer has a wide variety of applications in electrical systems and transmission lines. In the primary coil, the low voltage high current is supplied, by the process of induction, the voltage is induced in the secondary coil by means of electromagnetic induction.

A step-up transformer is the transformer which steps up the voltage from the primary winding to the secondary winding by keeping the powers the same in both the windings at the specified frequency. The step-up transformers are generally used in the electrical power generating stations and the other power transmission applications. The primary coil of the step-up transformers at the electrical power generating stations are given with the lower voltage to give a higher voltage at the secondary coil of the transmission lines. The step-up transformers are generally used in the alternating current only.

Hence, the option (A) is the correct answer.

Note: Both the primary coil and the secondary coil are not connected with the electrical connections. The flow of voltage in the primary coil induces the magnetic field in the secondary coil magnetic core, then the core induces the voltage in the secondary coil.
