Hint: Radar is defined as the detection system which makes use of the radio waves in order to determine the range, angle, or velocity of bodies. It is basically known as radio detection and ranging. It is helpful to detect aircraft, ships, spacecraft, missiles, motor vehicles, weather formations, and the terrain.

Radar is working on the basis of the principle of 'radio echoes'. The transmitter is radiating high energy electrical pulses into the space. These pulses when hits on a target will be scattered. The scattered pulses are taken by the antenna. Pulse will travel with the speed of light. By the calculation of the time taken by the pulse in order to reach the target and return to the transmitter, distance of the target is calculated. It is having so many applications in today’s world. It is used in air and sea navigation as it makes the journey safer. It is used for the safe landing of aeroplanes also. The rain drops sometimes reflect certain radar signals and hence make it enable the meteorologists to calculate the distance of the clouds with a higher accuracy for forecasting. Pulse can be used in the discovery of buried metals, oils and ores by determining the position of these things.
