We can also say that it is a phase transition process from liquid to gas. Vaporization is of two forms, one is evaporation and the other one is boiling. In evaporation the water turns into the vapour below the boiling temperature which is 100oC at 1 atm. Evaporation happens at the surface and hence is a surface phenomenon. Also it is to be noted that the evaporation happens only when the partial pressure of the liquid is less than that of the equilibrium vapour partial. Coming to the boiling, Boiling is a bulk phenomenon which happens when the temperature of the liquid is increased to the boiling temperature.
Now, let’s discuss condensation. Condensation is the process in which the vapours are converted back to the liquid. Condensation generally happens when the hot air suddenly cools down, leading to the formation of droplets. You might have seen when we pass wet air through a cold plate dew is formed, this is what condensation is. Also, when you take chilled coke out of the fridge and you see the formation of water on the bottle, this is what we call condensation; in this the excess water in air is condensed over the chilled water.

Also we must know that most of the time both condensation and vaporization works together. In case of water cycle, the water is evaporated and then condenses and falls in the form of rain. Similarly when we have to extract some compounds from a mixture of compounds we vaporize the compound we require and condenses then to get that compound extracted.
