Hint: Here we will first know what simple harmonic progressive wave is and then look at its characteristics. As the name of the wave shows that the particle of this wave shows simple harmonic motion, we will use all these ideas and answer the question.

Complete step-by-step answer:
We know that a simple harmonic progressive wave is a wave that continuously advances in a given direction without the change of form and also, the particles of the medium perform simple harmonic motion about their mean position with the same amplitude and period, when the waves pass over them.
Following are the few characteristics of a simple harmonic progressive wave:
1. All particles of medium perform S.H.M. when the wave passes through the medium.
2. All particles vibrate with the same amplitude.
3. All particles vibrate with the same frequency.
4. Energy is transmitted through the medium.
5. The propagation of simple harmonic progressive waves is doubly periodic phenomenon, periodic in time and periodic in space.

Additional Information:
As we know, that a wave can be described as a disturbance that travels through a medium, transporting energy from one location to another location without transporting matter.
Simple harmonic motion is defined as a special type of periodic motion where the restoring force (force applied in the opposite direction) on the moving object is directly proportional to the object's displacement magnitude and acts towards the object's equilibrium position. Here, the motion is sinusoidal in time and demonstrates a single resonant frequency.
Force is simply the pull or push. The restoring force is often referred to in simple harmonic motion. The restoring force is defined as the force which acts to bring an object to its equilibrium position. Also, the restoring force is a function of position of the mass or particle. It is always directed back toward the equilibrium position of the system.

Note: It should be remembered that in the simple harmonic progressive wave the particles in the medium show simple harmonic motion. There are other systems as well which show simple harmonic motion like- simple pendulum.
