Hydrogen and helium produce light and heat inside their cores from the churning nuclear energy.
Because of movement of air in the atmosphere it makes the starlight bend slightly when it travels from the distant star, this makes the star seem to twinkle.

In the sky, the Sun, the Moon and stars all rise in the east and set in the west, because Earth spins towards the east direction.
The stars don’t really move from the east to west, it is due to earth’s rotation. Whichever direction we are facing, we feel like we are moving towards that direction, it is because the earth is spinning.
