Hint – Use the concept of BODMAS to find the priority operation that needs to be performed first and which to be performed later. In BODMAS the brackets have highest priority, so solve the bracket parts first and follow the rule to get the answer.
Complete step-by-step solution -
Given equation is
$\left( {48 - 12} \right) \div 4 + 6 \div 2 \times 3$
Here we apply the rule of BODMAS (i.e. bracket of division multiplication addition and subtraction).
So we have to first solve the bracket.
$ \Rightarrow \left( {48 - 12} \right) \div 4 + 6 \div 2 \times 3 = 36 \div 4 + 6 \div 2 \times 3$
Now we have to solve for divide according to rule so we have,
$ \Rightarrow 36 \div 4 + 6 \div 2 \times 3 = \dfrac{{36}}{4} + \dfrac{6}{2} \times 3 = 9 + 3 \times 3$
Now we have to solve multiply according to rule so we have,
$ \Rightarrow 9 + 3 \times 3 = 9 + 9$
Now we have to solve addition according to rule so we have,
$ \Rightarrow 9 + 9 = 18$
So this is the required answer.
Note – BODMAS stands for Bracket, Of, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction. The priority is followed by a descending order from left to right that means the order of priority is Bracket > Of > Multiplication > Addition > Subtraction.
