Hint:Proportion means a relation attained in mathematical form by using divide and equal sign or multiplication or even ratio sign such that you derive a relation between the dependent quantities, once the ratio is established for two quantities then are applicable for any value.
Complete step by step solution:
According to the question given we have to assume certain scale to
obtain ratio between it, so let’s assume a scale in which a quantity “\[a\]” is having a relation with a
quantity “\[b\]” in such that when you establish a ratio between the given two quantities then for any value of the given variable the ratio will be satisfied.
Putting this statement in mathematical form we get:
\[\dfrac{a}{b}\]Or
\[a:b\]
Above ratio is the required ratio obtained for a scale in which if one quantity is given then another can be obtained with the given situation in question.
Formulae Used: For any number say “\[x\]”,”\[y\]” if given ratio is \[a:b\] then the formed equation is:
\[\dfrac{a}{b} = \dfrac{x}{y}\]
Additional Information: When dealing with the ratio you should see the relation between the two variables given in the question.
Note: The basic idea for such a question is forming the equation according to the given ratio provided in the question and then equating it to the variable whatsoever given to find the solution. For any two variable equations two equations should be made and accordingly given in the question to find the solution.
