They are generally manufactured in two ways: By laminating two ordinary glass sheets together and by strengthening glass sheets by heat treatment. Two types of safety glass are tempered and heat-strengthened. The heat-strengthened glass cools at a faster rate than the regular annealed glass. And tempered glass cools at a faster rate than heat-strengthened glass. Laminated glass has two or more liters of glass joined by a plastic layer. Heat-strengthened glass is usually made by heating the annealed glass uniformly and later cooling it at a slow rate. The produced glass can be made stronger by changing the rate of cooling. Tempered glass is made by heating the annealed glass uniformly, and then cooling the annealed glass rapidly by blowing air uniformly on both surfaces at the same time.
