Complete answer: The Carnatic Wars can be described as a series of military conflicts during the middle of the 18th century in India. The conflicts had involved a number of nominally independent rulers as well as their vassals, struggles for succession and territory; and also included a diplomatic and military struggle among the French East India Company and the British East India Company.
An attempt by the French in order to acquire the Fort of Vandavasi present in the state of Tamil Nadu. This attempt had been foiled by the British Forces under the command of British Lieutenant-General Sir Eyre Coote that led to the Battle of Wandiwash or the third Carnatic War.
The Third Carnatic War that was fought from 1756 to 1763 was considered a decisive win for the English. It also established the English supremacy over the French in the Indian Subcontinent. In the end, a treaty-Treaty of Paris had been signed, allowing the French to have their own factories in India but at the same time forbade them from administering them.
Two major results of the Third Carnatic War are given below -

2.This established Britain as the paramount European power in India. The path was absolutely clear for the establishment of British colonial rule in India

Note: During this war the French had lost their Indian possessions which included Pondicherry, Mahe, Gingee, and Karaikal to the British. The war ended with the Treaty of Paris in the year 1763. According to the Treaty, Chandannagar and Pondicherry were returned back to France but at the same time, they were barred from fortifying them or having troops in them. They could only have trading activities.
