Hint: Dogganal Mahadevappa Nanjundappa was a Karnataka Indian economist and professor of economics at Karnataka University, Dharwad. From 1987, he served as Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University and Karnataka University. Professor Nanjundappa was Deputy Chairman of the Karnataka State Planning Board.

The High-power Committee for Redressal of Regional Imbalance which was headed by Dr. D.M Nanjudappa was submitted to the State Government in the year 2002, as no serious efforts were being made to implement the recommendations by the committee find a permanent solution to problems they are facing like inequality in development.
The High-power Committee for Redressal of Regional Imbalance after considering the various the parameter to determine the various backwardness in each of the State then had to take taluk as the unit to determine its backwardness.
As planned by the State Government the special plan has not been formulated for the development of the regions in the period of eight years by spending the amount Thirty One Thousand Crore. As the High-power Committee for Redressal of Regional Imbalance suggested it spend in the year 2002. And of the amount of Thirty-one thousand crores is to be spent for the backward district The High-power Committee for Redressal of Regional Imbalance said that the amount of Fifteen thousand crore is been coming from normal budgetary allocation and suggest that the remaining amount should be spent at the rate of two thousand crores a year.
