Hint: Maharana Sangram Singh was commonly known as Rana Sanga. He was born on April 12, 1484. His son Ratan Singh succeeded him.

Complete answer: Rana Sanga was the ruler of Mewar state. Mewar was a region that lies the present-day Rajasthan. He was an esteemed member of the Sisodia clan of Suryavanshi Rajputs. He murdered all his brothers and then pronounced himself as the king. He stood up against the invaders all the time. He put in great efforts to unite many Rajput states to fight against the invaders. He was a valiant fighter who is legendary for his chivalry and generosity. He lost a battle to Babur once but because of a traitor. Rana Sanga succeeded his father Rana Raimal in 1509. He protected and watched his kingdom from repeated invasions from the rulers of Delhi, Gujarat, and Malwa. During his rule, Mewar touched the zenith of prosperity. Babar invaded India in 1526 and defeated Ibrahim Lodhi who was the Sultan of Delhi at that time. Thus the Rajput clans started to unite under Rana Sanga in a Rajput confederacy. The superior artillery of the Mughals prevailed against the cavalry advances of the Rajputs. Rana Sanga was succeeded by his son Ratan Singh.
Therefore “B” is the correct answer.

Note: In 1527, at the battle of Khanwa, Babur defeated Sanga and the Rajput confederacy. This victory brought a new era in the history of India. Rana sustained serious injuries during the battle and died shortly afterwards.
