Hint:In the start of the seventeenth century, (around first decade), the concept of inertia was given. The general concept states that “The natural property of an object which forces it to remain in the same state and opposes the change in state is called Inertia. They want to do what they are doing.”
Complete step-by-step solution:
In the seventeenth century, Galileo Galilei and his students proposed the concept of Inertia.
Later, the concept of inertia was modified by Isaac Newton which he stated in his laws of motion. In his Law of Inertia, he stated that “An object will remain in motion if it is in motion or it will be stationary if it is in stationary position until an external force is applied to it.”
Based on the concept of inertia, Galileo realized that it is impossible to tell the difference between a stationary object and a moving object until an outside common reference is used. This has been further stated by Albert Einstein in his special theory of relativity.
This concept is extended to the concept of rotational inertia which stated that “An object will keep rotating, if it is rotating, until an external torque is applied to it and it’s angular momentum will remain preserved”.
Note:-
