Hint: Number line is the method of representation of an individual number on a line it is akin to the method of representation of an ordered pair on a coordinate plane or the representation of the three dimensional points on the three dimensional plane or in real space.

Complete step-by-step answer:
The number line is made up of all the real numbers so it belongs to the real numbers set. The numbers on the line are plotted according to the label markings on the line and after deciding on which side of the line is the number situated on if the number is a negative then the given number is put on the left side of the number line otherwise if the number is positive the given number is placed on the right side of the number line in case the number is zero it is conveniently placed in the centre of the number line a number line is infinitely long because it has to comprise all the number from the real set (the number in real set are infinity)
Let four given numbers be named as:
$A,B,C,D$ which are given by values as $ - \dfrac{3}{8},0.27, - 0.3,\dfrac{5}{8}$
The points $A,C$ will be on the left side of the number line , remaining other two numbers will be on the right side of the number line. The diagram of the plotting is given below,

Note: The numbers on the number line represent the distance from the centre the given point . The more the distance of the point from the centre of the number line the bigger is the number in terms of magnitude although it can be smaller as well in case the sign is negative.
