The main difference between Photochemical smog and smog is that the smog can happen both day and night whereas the photochemical smog only happens in the presence of sunlight. Photochemical smog is the universal problem as air pollution increases. Photochemical smog is visible as a brown haze in sunlight. It is a mixture of pollutants that formed when nitrogen oxides and volatile (VOC) volatile organic compounds react to sunlight.
It is very harmful for the human respiratory system, as it causes painful irritation, reduced lungs function and difficulty in breathing. High levels of smog can also trigger asthma. This can be controlled by driving less, avoiding gas powers, avoiding products that release a high level of (VOC), and turning off the vehicle when the light is red. Photochemical smog depends upon both primary and secondary pollutants. It mostly occurs in urban areas that have large numbers of automobiles, warm areas, densely populated. It is also known as “Los Angeles smog”.
