Hint:- Phloem parenchyma is a living tissue in plants that helps on transportation of compounds that are made during the process called photosynthesis. In simple language we can say that phloem is responsible for transportation of food that is prepared by plants.
Complete Answer:-Phloem parenchyma has certain cells like conducting cells, parenchyma cells, supportive cells, specialized cells etc. Parenchyma cell’s main function is to store and transport the food prepared by the plants. As we know that xylem is responsible for the movement of water, minerals in the plants this movement is driven by negative pressure whereas if we talk about the movement of food within the plant by the phloem is driven by positive hydrostatic pressure this process is termed as “translocation”. They are present in between the sieve tubes of the phloem. They are very thin walls, each cell can be different in shape which purely depends on its location. When the parenchyma cells are exposed to outside when any of the wound occurs it just starts to divide and helps in healing the wound and repairing the wound of the plant. These parenchyma cells don’t die at their maturity, they help in providing the structural support to the plant. We can find these phloem parenchyma in dicot leaf, dicot stem and monocot root but these are absent in monocot stem.
Hence the correct option is (B) Monocot stem.
Note:- Supportive cell which are present in parenchyma has its primary function of transporting the food that is sugars to transport in the plant wherever needed. Supportive cells have two furthermore category and those are Fibres and sclereids. Fibres are long narrow supportive cells provides tension strength whereas sclereids are irregular in shape and provides compression strength.
