While electing their representatives the citizens hope to elect the best possible members who would look after their needs and fulfill them. Overall, they want their representatives in the government to work for their welfare. Before the elections, the political parties conduct rallies and print out manifestos to outline their agendas and promises they’ll pursue if they would assume office. Common citizen often goes through these documents, pamphlets and the promises made in the rallies to decide which candidate is best suited to his needs. When a citizen elects a candidate to represent him at the Parliament, they expect them to fulfill the promises and carry forward his voice to the Parliament.
