Hint:We know that magnetic materials are materials which get attracted to an external magnetic field, few types of magnetic materials called magnets can also produce their own magnetic field. These are majorly used in the electronic and electrical devices like cell phones, television sets , refrigerators and so on.
Complete step-by-step solution:
We know that in nature, all the materials can be classified into the different types of magnets. The major types of magnetic materials are diamagnetic, paramagnetic and ferromagnetic.
Diamagnetic substances are materials which get hardly magnetised when placed in an external magnetic field, instead they try to oppose or resist the magnetic field. These include water and gold to name a few.
Paramagnetic substances are which have zero magnetic moment due to the opposite direction of electrons which are present in them, which cancel each other. However, when an external magnetic field is applied, they tend to align along the external magnetic field and the magnetic field of these substances exists only as long as the external field is present. These include metals like aluminium, tungsten and platinum to name a few.
Ferromagnetic substances, these are materials which have strong magnetic fields which can be used to magnetise paramagnetic substances. Examples include nickel, iron and cobalt and their alloys majorly.
Thus three elements that are magnetic materials include nickel, iron and cobalt .
Note: The other types of magnetic field are antiferromagnetic materials, which have random magnetic moments which tend to cancel each other and ferromagnetic materials are materials whose unpaired electrons align in the presence of external magnetic field to make the substance magnetically active. Also it is worth knowing that the earth is a natural magnet which has a very high magnetic field.
