Hint: Human uterus is the secondary sexual organ in the female and it is the muscular organ. It is present between the bladder and the rectum in the female body. The main function of the human uterus is to nourish the human fertilized egg after the process of fertilization up to the delivery of the fetus.
Complete Answer:
- In the uterus the lower part is joined with the vagina and the upper part is joined with the fallopian tube. The gg produced in the ovary moves through the fallopian tube, at that time if fertilization happens the fertilized ovum falls on the uterus and its growth takes place.
- If not, the egg from the fallopian tube falls on the uterus and both shed in the menopause. The uterus is covered by the three walls: an endometrium, myometrium and the exometrium.
- The endometrium is the inner wall of the uterus and it is glandular in nature. Its main function is to provide the nourishment to the embryo after fertilization and before the delivery of the child. If no fertilization happens, this endometrium layer destroys during the hemorrhagic phase and goes through the menstrual cycle.
- The middle wall of the uterus is called the myometrium. It possesses smooth muscles in it. Its function is to undergo the contraction at the time of the delivery of the baby.
Note: The uterus is divided into four parts as the fundus, corpus, cervix and the cervical canal. In which the fundus is the upper portion of the uterus and the corpus is the lower portion of the uterus. The cervix is connected to the part of the vagina.
