The main ingredients in this Portland cement are di-calcium silicate $ \left( {C{a_2}Si{O_4}} \right) $ present as $ 26\% $ of all the ingredients, tricalcium silicate $ \left( {C{a_3}Si{O_5}} \right) $ present as the major ingredient in this cement which comprises of $ 51\% $ off the total ingredients, and last is tricalcium aluminate $ \left( {C{a_3}A{l_2}{O_6}} \right) $ present in the least quantity in this cement comprises only $ 11\% $ of the total ingredients. The most important raw materials required in the production of cement are limestone, clay, and marl.

When we mix cement with fine aggregate, it produces mortar for masonry and when it is mixed with sand and gravel, it produces concrete. Concrete is the second most consumed resource on the planet.
