- In the ovulatory phase, LH and FSH attain a peak level. In the luteal phase, LH is secreted by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland which causes ovulation. The leftover graffiti follicle leads to the formation of corpus luteum which secrete progesterone which stimulates watery mucus secretion.
